Prof. Dr. Fatih AYDOĞAN
Dr. Aydogan is a surgical oncologist and his mainly practice is breast surgery. He works as a physician-scienticist in Istanbul and research collaborator at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and completed his general surgery residency at Cerrahpasa School of Medicine, Istanbul University in 2005 where he continued his position as attending surgeon. In 2012, he recieved European Board of Breast Surgery Certificate after passing oral and writing exams and successfully completing the assesment in Valencia, Spain. Dr. Aydogan served faculty and breast surgeon at Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa School of Medicine from 2010-2016. Dr. Aydogan became clinical professor of surgery in 2016.
During his academic career, Dr. Aydogan has traveled to Mas. General Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Cornell University New York Presbyterian Hospital, European Institute of Oncology , MD Anderson Cancer Center as a research fellow or observer.
Dr.Aydogan have invented innovative new surgical techniques called A-ROLL, IFOLL with multidisciplinary team. He has published over 60 peer reviewed articles in high impact journals. These articles have been cited more than 500 times. He has published two books including “Sentinel Node Biopsy” and “Breast Cancer” as a co-editor and contributed over 15 chapters in several other books.
His some studies awarded by The New Technology Prize from British Institute of Radiology, Fellowship Grants and Best Presentation Prizes.
Dr. Aydogan has joined Breast Surgical Oncology team as a research scholar collaborator at Brigham and Dana Farber Women’s Cancer Center in 2013. One of his primary research projects has been selected to receive a 2015 Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO Merit Award, honoring early career oncologists’ research. His main areas of professional interest lie in breast diseases, medical errors and medical education.
